My MIL just sent me this today...
A retired submarine veteran honors all veterans nightly with the lowering of the American Flag in his front yard.

That was great. I wish I were there every night. Am going to post it on my blog also. Thank you so much for sharing. When we lived on base in Groton (in the fishbowl) when David was at SOAC, I loved hearing colors.
I was wishing I could be there too and then my MIL wrote again and said the man passed away in October. I wonder if anyone is keeping the tradition alive...
